Integrated Solution for Wastewater Treatment

Introduction

Worldwide billions cubic meters of wastewater per year are generated , part of it is treated in wastewater treatment plants.

Treatment plants use primary , secondary treatment in most of plants, some uses tertiary treatment technologies

Middle east countries recently assigned tertiary treatment for new WWTP to be able to save aquatic life in its revers, seas and lakes

Due to pollution in wastewater, wastewater treatment is an essential to save life for both human and aquatic life

Mixed wastewater from domestic and industrial wastewater make a huge problem as heavy metals is presented in untreated wastewater as well as the biological WWTP is not designed to remove heavy metals from domestic wastewater

Heavy metals causes a lot of health problem for humans which costs a lot of money to control it .this problems in public health impact the total national income

Some of existing WWTP is designed long time ago with a certain population, with the huge growth in population, the designed capacities of those plants had been exceeded, so it came to an urgent case to extend the plants capacities to reflect the new flow coming to it.

Also, to upgrade the treatment efficiency of existing plants from primary and secondary treatment to tertiary treatment,

INNPT technology is ready to do this task in a short time with a little capital.

INNPT technology can upgrade the existing WWTP from primary, secondary treatment to tertiary treatment while increasing its capacity in the same structure up to 800 % current flow rates

INNPT technology can also support globe’s goals in removal of phosphours and nitrogen in existing plants .

WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANTS

WWTP with capacities from 50 m3/d up to 1000000 m3/d

  • Mobile WWTP for unserved rural areas with 100 m3/d and 1000 m3/d. the best alternative for evacuation trucks
  • Upgrading existing WWTP to tertiary treatment level
  • Increasing existing plant capacities up to 800 % of its designed capacity
  1. Rehabilitation of existing plant with minimum cost and time
  2. Sludge stabilization and energy generation
  • Replacement of pumping stations with in site plants to save pipelines and local water

INNPT is a treatment system for wastewater using Calcium, Aluminum and iron nanoparticles oxides and compounds as coagulants for pollutants in wastewater to precipitate it and clean the wastewater.

What are the advantages of INNPT Technology?

  • Knowledge :- INNPT is a new technology using nanoparticles in wastewater treatment
  • Efficiency: INNPT guarantee a removal efficiency more than 85 % up to 95% for COD, BOD, TSS, Phosphors and Sulfide.
  1. Heavy Metals INNPT also guarantee 70% : 90% removal of heavy metals like zinc , lead , chromium ,cadmium ,iron and cupper … etc. which precipitate it in insoluble format in sludge which protect land and aquatic life
  2. Integration: – INNPT technology can be engaged with any existing biological treatment system or chemical treatment system to increase plant treatment performance and / or increase plant capacity up to 400% designed capacity without need for new land or huge constructions.
  • Quality : INNPT guarantee the quality of treated wastewater to be tertiary equivalent according to the regulation roles in the country to be used
  • High treatment rate with 400% more in the same traditional plant area and structure
  • CAPEX & OPEX: INNPT CAPEX and OPEX is the lowest compared with any other technology in WWT giving the same wastewater treatment efficiency
    1. AREA : INNPT plant requires 1/8 sq. meters of land of plant flow rate per day
    2. Cost : INNPT plant CAPEX costs 40 % less than traditional WWTP costs
    3. Electricity : INNPT plant consume 0.3 kw/h for one cubic meter of treated water in tertiary process
  1. Flexibility: – INNPT is flexible in pollutants range which it can remove from treated wastewater. So it has the capabilities to be adjusted to reflect new coming pollutants values higher or lower than plant design limits up to 200 % difference.
  • Mobility: INNPT mobile plant can be used in small village instead of evacuation trucks to serve other remote unserved rural areas. each truck can serve up to 20000 capita
  1. Recovery :- INNPT recover phosphors and Nitrogen from treated wastewater in precipitated sludge so it can be used in land reclamation
  2. Scale up : INNPT plant can be designed to serve a total flow rate from 50 cubic meters per day up to one million cubic meter per day
  3. Pumping station alternative: INNPT plants can be used to treat wastewater in place instead of building pumping stations at designed pumping station locations, so it will save pipe lines as well as a lot of cost in main WWTP as all remote villages will be served in place according to its actual discharge.

Mobile INNPT truck is a compact treatment plant uses INNPT technology to treat wastewater from septic tanks and disposes it in drainage canals as clean water for reuse in irrigation according to environmental law

Mobile INNPT truck results shows that it concedes with FAO rules for reuse of treated wastewater in irrigation systems

EEAA in Egypt starts using Mobile INNPT trucks in upper Egypt to cover unserved rural areas with sanitation service.

Mobile INNPT truck

  • Mobile INNPT truck capacity is 4 m3
  • Treats 96 m3/d
  • 3 Mobile INNPT truck covers a village with 5000 capita
  • Each Mobile INNPT truck Produces 3 ton of sludge per month
  • Cost of INNPT additives per day for one mobile INNPT truck is 25 USD
  • Cost /capita/month is 0.5 USD

Mobil INNPT truck Advantages

  • Tertiary treatment
  • Electricity consumption is 0.3 kw/m3
  • UV disinfection unit
  • Multimedia filter ( sand , gravel and Activated carbon)
  • No odor
  1. What is the cost of treatment for one cubic meter of wastewater?
    • The cost can be divided to three main categories
      • Operation cost which is less than traditional WWTP by 40 %
      • Electricity : INNPT technology uses 0.3 kw/m3for tertiary treatment
  2. Is there any effect on environment due to the use of this technology?
    • Nanotechnology is a science that treats materials by atomic and molecular use and is measured in nanometers by one millionth of a millimeter. Nanotechnology has been used with efficiency and high safety rates in various applications, including medicine, medicine, food and energy. Especially in water treatment and sanitation, nanotechnology has the ability to eliminate pollutants without direct and indirect changes to any element of the physical environment of the quality of water, soil, air, climate and various natural resources or elements of the biological environment of plant, animal, land, water or elements of the social environment From changes to individuals and communities in living styles, culture, belief, customs, traditions, human health, animals, plants and living things. Our tests on water and sludge shows that there is no toxic effect due to the use of INNPT technology .also the test results shows that the treated water is free from pathogenic bacteria and the heavy metals in industrial wastewater are within the allowed limits according to environmental laws
  3. What about the produced sludge? Is it save?
    • We tested the produced sludge at Egyptian National Agriculture Research Center which showed the sludge is free from pathogenic bacteria, nematode. And helminths ova as well as it contains high values of phosphors , potassium and nitrogen
  4. What is the effect of removing pollution and heavy metals from wastewater on produced sludge?
    • The effect of heavy elements on soil was studied by conducting tests on treated sludge using Nano additive and the facility report from the National Center for Agricultural Research and Environment Unit, which shows that the treatment led to the conversion of heavy elements to a non absorbable image of the plant in percentages allowing the use of sludge treated in fertilization without exceeding The values of the heavy metals dissolved in the permitted soil according to the Egyptian law governing
